  • Known for its sweeping ocean views and rugged coastline, La Jolla has become synonymous with the laid-back, picturesque lifestyle ubiquitous with the California coast. For visitors, finding a scenic spot to adopt this lifestyle for a long weekend is a top priority. Cormorant, a modern-luxury boutique hotel, provides the perfect accommodation for travelers with ocean-front balconies and a rooftop lounge overlooking the Pacific Ocean. With such prime real estate, it was imperative the rooftop lounge adopt its own sense of personality and desirability that complimented the breathtaking views and luxurious vibe.

  • Playing off the bird theme already in place at Cormorant, our team landed on the name “The Birdseye” as a perfect fit for the space. Additionally, our team crafted the supporting visual identity rooted by a proprietary logotype and complimentary icon reminiscent of Gatsby-era elegance. A custom pattern adds warmth and texture to print collateral such as coasters, business cards and menus. Inspired by the surrounding landscape, we arrived at a monochrome palette of rich dark teal and lighter sky blues which mirror the oceanside setting. As a result, The Birdseye brand identity presents itself as a luxe lounge that clearly distinguishes itself as La Jolla’s newest coastal jewel.
